Entrepreneurship is often said to be a male-dominated world, and in the Muslim community – where female modesty is held at a premium – one might think that was doubly the case.

However, a new crop of Women Village Level Entrepreneurs is defying this stereotype while cashing in on the rapidly growing Indian economy in the light of Digital India program.

Take woman VLE Nilofar Khan, who after completing B.Tech. Electronics, joined private ITI college. But she was determined to change the face of people in Kota, Rajasthan. She joined CSC in December 2015. The VLE has imparted Digital Literacy to 1700 people, especially among minority and tribes from Bhil communities. Bhil is one of the most backward Rajasthani tribe. Bhil people inhabits mainly in Jungle. They are also noted to be Sahariyas. They are mostly farmers, fisherman, and hunters.

Due to her training, the people from Bhil community are now aware of the various legal rights. They have opened bank accounts and can now take all the investment decisions wisely. All the households now also have their ration cards made. The community which is known to be backward now has a stand in the society in Rajasthan. The Bhil families who were trained by VLE Nilofar, now also send their children to school and others getting employed.

Nilofar says, ?Running the CSC center made me very strong- morally, socially and financially.? Her confidence improved a lot as she felt that she was part of a big change that CSC initiative is bringing to her State. She has done tremendous work under capacity Building and livelihood for women from marginalized communities in Kota, Rajasthan. Nilofar started her center with very small setup, however after recognizing the opportunity to grow socially and financially with CSC platform, she focused on providing maximum number of services through her CSC center. She started her CSC in 100 sqft and now, it is in 1,000 sq ft. ?She has employed 4 women at her centre.

VLE Nilofar says, ?Now the situation is that I am earning more than I expected to earn and have a big workplace having more than 10 service delivery counters in it. With the help of earnings through my CSC centre, I am now able to buy my own four wheeler car. ?

She has spread investor Awareness program among 600 villagers. She says that each and every government services should be added to the CSC platform and we will get opportunity to deliver those services through our CSC outlets.
