New Delhi: 17 November, 2024
In the bustling heart of Hall No. 14 at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024, a vibrant display by Common Services Centers (CSC) captures attention and admiration. Showcasing innovative solutions under the Digital India initiative, CSC presents a wide range of services, including Grameen eStore, CSC Academy, DigiPay, Aadhaar services, and more. However, beyond the technologies, the real stars of the exhibit are two remarkable Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), Siddharth and Vikas, whose inspiring journeys symbolize the transformative power of digital inclusion.
The Young Visionary: Siddharth’s Digital Journey
Siddharth, a 22-year-old from Mandawali, Delhi, stands as a beacon of hope for young dreamers. Despite financial struggles after completing his 12th grade, Siddharth found an opportunity to support his family and build a sustainable livelihood through CSC. Since establishing his center in 2020, he has seamlessly managed services like Aadhaar enrollment, DigiPay, and the Grameen eStore.
Siddharth’s enthusiastic engagement with visitors during the trade fair showcases his entrepreneurial spirit. Whether demonstrating a cashless transaction or explaining the potential of rural e-commerce, his passion is infectious. His story proves that age is no barrier to success when paired with determination and access to resources.
Resilience Personified: Vikas’s Inspirational Tale
In stark contrast, Vikas, a 50-year-old entrepreneur from Rohini, Delhi, overcame physical challenges to become a role model in his community. Stricken with polio in childhood, Vikas defied all odds to establish a thriving CSC center. His work not only provides crucial services to the local population but also inspires others to rise above their circumstances.
At IITF, Vikas’s engaging anecdotes and deep understanding of digital tools leave visitors in awe. His story resonates powerfully, demonstrating that inclusivity and accessibility are at the core of CSC’s mission.
A Platform for Transformation
The CSC stall at IITF serves as more than just an exhibit—it’s a hub for empowerment. With live demonstrations, on-the-spot registrations, and testimonials from beneficiaries, visitors experience firsthand the impact of CSC’s services. From students curious about digital literacy programs to entrepreneurs exploring partnerships, the stall caters to all.
As the event concludes, Siddharth and Vikas emerge as heroes of the Digital India initiative, proving that technology can transcend barriers and change lives. Their journeys remind us that empowerment begins with opportunity and the courage to seize it. editor@ictpost.com
